Owners' Profile

Viox & Viox is locally owned by brothers, Jim and Bill Viox. The brothers have been partners and acting principals of the firm since 1968, following the death of their father and founder. James H. Viox Jr. Both Jim and Bill remain actively involved in the daily operations of the firm. Jim is the primary design engineer and is responsible for the planning grading and utility designs produced at Viox & Viox. Bill’s primary area of expertise is land development and public projects. In addition, Bill handles managerial and project review activities for the firm. Jim and Bill are actively involved in several community and professional organizations including the Northern Kentucky Society of Professional Engineers (NKSPE), Northern Kentucky Land Development Council, and the Northern Kentucky and Grant County Chambers of Commerce.

Jim Viox graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 1965. He then served as 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers from June 1965 to November 1967 and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for Service. Jim has served as engineer for the city of Erlanger and for the city of Wilder since 1968.

Jim was awarded the Kentucky Society of Professional Engineers (KSPE) Outstanding Engineer in Private Practice Award in 1978 and the KSPE Distinguished Service Award in Builders Association “Donald M. Wiedeman Award” for Community Service in 2003.

Vice-President- William R. Viox

Bill Viox graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 1970. Bill has been engineer for the City of Florence since 1980. In addition, he served on the Boone County Planning Commission from 1980 to 1999 and was the Chairmanfrom 1988 to 1997. Bill was also a member of the Advisory Board for Engineering Northern Kentucky Home Builders Association “Donald M. Wiedeman Award” for Community Service.
