Duveneck Square is an urban infill development project in Covington, Kentucky along Washington Street, between Seventh and Eighth Streets. This residential and commercial development both compliments and enhances the existing historical neighborhood. The development includes 108 residential apartment units, restaurant and retail space, mixed-use office space, and parking facilities.
Cincinnati based Northpointe Group selected Viox & Viox to provide surveying and civil site design services for this project. The development is adjacent to Braxton Brewery and near the Hotel Covington. This $65 million dollar project is significant to the City of Covington as it will help to meet the current demand for more urban housing.
Design tasks included grading, sanitary sewer connections to combined sewers, water main, storm sewer, public agency approvals, and coordination with other professionals. Phase 1 of Duveneck Square opened in 2018. Phase 2 is currently in design and will be constructed on the opposite side of Washington Street.
